In a bare knuckles testimony against his former boss, Michael Cohen left nothing to chance as he detailed his past dealings with the President. The depositionlasted for eight hours and was replete with dramatic effects as Cohen narrated his version of events. Amongst the most notable statements, Cohen intimated to the House and Americans that the president is racist, authorizedfraudulent activities, and dealt with Russians before elections (Siddiqui, 2019). More surprisingly, the disbarred former Trump confidante and attorney reiterated that the run-up to the presidencywas for publicity and commercial success. With Democrats who have no love lost for Trump, these revelations were precursors to a gruellingrace to the White House. Aspirants will use the sentiments against the president in the campaigns. A tough battle awaits.

Minnesota Representative Ilhan Omar arriving for the SOTU address in the Congress

Following a publicbacklash against freshman Minn. Rep Ilhan Omar’s anti-Semitic sentiments, the House Democrats will move a resolution to dissuade every member from making such comments. The move is a consequence of the demands by the Anti-Defamation League which demanded Democrats’ commitment to avoid anti-Semitic remarks(Kellman, 2019). The House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will lead the declaration. Notably, the American public is diverse and reckless speeches by elected leaders are dangerous to the national cohesion. Besides, such issues are seen as racial in many corners hence the need refrain. Hopefully, the Representative learned her lesson and will be more careful in her future communication.

According to former White House attorney Ty Cobb (pictured), the special counsel on Russian collusion, Robert Mueller exemplifies a modern-day American hero. As a former marine and FBI director, Mueller is a decorated public servant with an exceptional record (Wagner, 2019). Cobb’s sentiments camein the wake of the Cohen testimony and renewed House Democrat investigations on the President. As the conflict shapes into a strugglebetween Democrats and Republicans, only time will tell if Cobb’s opinion holds. Then, as the 2020 polls draw close, there is no sayinghow these investigations will affect the elections as Democrats gear up to give Trump a run for his money.

In a scathing attack against the President, Democrat Nadler (pictured) holds the opinion that the head of state has had his fair share of democratic abuse. MrNadler’ssentiments come after the House Judiciary Committee launched an extensive investigation into Trump’s businesses, political relations, his assumption of thepresidency, and administration. Following years of futile attempts by the Democrats to rein in the President, it appears as though this time around, they will leave no stone untouched. Thus, the New York Congressman says, we have to find out what’s been going on and we have to lay out a case to the American people and reveal it(Sullivan, 2019). If the probe comes to fruition, Americans will be treatedto a spectacle and power wars between House Democrats and Republicans who continue to support the president.

Sanders Speaks Against Racism

On Sunday Night, while addressing a crowd of 12,500 people at the Navy Pier’s Festival Hall, Bernie Sanders reiterated his stand on social issues plaguing Americans. He narrated how in the sixties, he and a group of other white students crossed the line and embraced their black colleagues who learned in portable trailers set by schools to create racial segregation. Accordingly, theseventy-seven-year-oldindicated that it was in Chicago that he developed his activism against racism, sexism, corporate malpractices, homophobia, and environmentalism (Gambino, 2019). Sanders is currently one of the most senior Democrats in the 2020 Presidential race keen on unseating President Trump. In what promises to be a gruesomebattle for the ticket, Sanders will possibly be forced to square it out with veteran politicians like Joe Biden and Congressman Beto O’Rouke who may join the race. Can he go all the way?
